The popular French game developer Ubisoft signed a deal with the owner of the Naruto manga franchise to develop a game based on the series for the Xbox 360 in 2007.
Naruto is the most popular anime series in the world, with magazines world wide, and shows running on Cartoon Network in the United States. Naruto is about training and battling ninjas.
Many games have been made based on the series (including a range of popular titles for the Nintendo GameCube), however, few of these games have been sold out side of Japan.
The Naruto market in Japan is held by Namco, and thus, the Ubisoft game will not be available in the Japanese market. Ubisoft says the game will be launched in North America by 2007.
Another popular game based on the series, called “Naruto: Ultimate Ninja” is in development speculations say it will be released in June.
