Motorola's Windows-Based Smartphone Delayed

The Motorola Q, a sleak new Windows-based smartphone from America’s best handset maker, has been generating rumors in the shadows, only to be delayed to “the first half of 2006.”

Originally expected in December, the Q’s launch date has been bumped back again and again, with the device now expected to be available “in the first half of 2006.”

The chance of this device being a big hit seems to be diminishing more and more as each day passes, especially with other advanced smartphones hitting the market, and taking customers from the Q before it even launches. Motorola will definitely have to unveal a medly of surprises and innovative features for the Q to make a big splash within the next few months, if it even is released at all.

Unconfirmed rumors are currently making the rounds that Motorola and Microsoft are planning a joint press release to launch the device on May 22, but there has been no official indication from either company that this will actually happen.

Summary

The Motorola Q, a sleak new Windows-based smartphone from America’s best handset maker, has been generating rumors in the shadows, only to be delayed to “the first half of 2006.”
